FRANKLIN COUNTY COOPERATIVE INSPECTION PROGRAM

 

Building Permits:  Value of Project:  In order to keep the fees equitable for the 16 towns in our building program, the cost of construction is determined by the following scale.  This valuation procedure does not affect taxation by your town assessors.

-All new construction for dwelling units/additions                                                   $100/sq ft

-Commercial & Industrial new construction, additions                                            $100/sq ft

-Commercial accessory buildings                                                                                    $50/sq ft

-Conversion of non-residential space to living space                                               $90/sq ft

-Residential accessory buildings and non-living space  under 120 sq. ft.         $10.00

Fees Will Be Doubled When Construction Is Started Prior To Issuance Of A Permit.

 

Architect/Engineer Services

All plans for work in structures containing more than 35,000 cubit feet (other than residential and agricultural structures) shall be properly stamped and meet all requirements set forth in Sections 113 & 127 of the Massachusetts State Building Code.

Wood Stoves

If applying for a dwelling permit and you plan to install a wood stove, indicate under “other” the name of the stove and where it is to be located in the dwelling.  This will preclude another permit being issued for the stove; however, it must be installed and ready for inspection during final inspection.

               $4.00 per $1,000 or a fraction thereof, not to exceed $4,000

Repair and Maintenance:

For Industrial concerns and schools employing a licensed electrician for maintenance work only on their premises, the annual permit fee shall be set between $500 and $700 at the discretion of the Wiring Inspector.

Fees for Reinspection:

The fee for reinspection of defective work, or if the site is inaccessible

All Applications For Permits To Do Wiring Shall Be Accompanied By A Check Made Payable To The Town In Which The Work Is Being Performed.

 

Plumbing and Gas Permits

Plumbing:

-All new residential dwelling units: (covers all fixtures and includes               $175

 3 inspections, any additional inspections will be $30)

-All residential remodel work: (includes one fixture/appliance) plus               $50 per permit

 $10 per additional fixture/appliance

-All commercial work (new or remodel under 5,000 sq ft)                                   $150 per permit

-All commercial work (new or remodel over 5,000 sq ft)                                     $300 per permit

· All reinspection fees will be $40.

· All sections of the Massachusetts Plumbing & Fuel and Gas Code, CMR 248, will be strictly

 adhered to.

· All applications for permits shall be accompanied by a check made payable to the respective town where the job is located.  Please be sure the check is made out to the appropriate town.

· Permit fees will be doubled when work is begun prior to filing an application with this office.

 

Planning Board

Protective Zoning Bylaw:

Special Permit.  A $60 filing fee must be paid at the time of filing.  Additional costs incurred during the special permit process will be assessed to the applicant later.

 

Subdivision Regulations Fees:

 Each application when submitted shall be accompanied by a certified check for an

amount in accord with the following fee schedule.  Checks shall be made payable

to the Town of Heath.

 · Endorsement by the Planning Board when “Approval under the Subdivision Control
