BROADBAND (HIGH-SPEED INTERNET) SURVEY

Please help us get high-speed Internet access in Heath by filling out a Broadband Survey as explained in the paragraphs below. Click here for the survey- www.bconnect.org or www.pioneervalleyconnect.org. You may fill out the survey online or print it out.

you can click here to download and print the survey. There are copies of the survey available in the Library and in the Town Offices. Our goal is to get most of the residents in Heath to fill out the survey.

You may give your completed survey to the Town Coordinator to mail in as a group.

The deadline for filling out the survey is April 30.

Regional Broadband Survey**

We all agree that access to broadband (high speed internet) is an absolute necessity, and in many areas of Western Massachusetts access to broadband is simply not available.  If Western Massachusetts wants to spur economic development, increase quality educational opportunities, and enhance emergency communication, broadband is essential.  The Berkshire and Pioneer Valley Connects (The Connects), working with legislators, local broadband groups, state agencies and the Governor’s Administration, are working to bring broadband services to our underserved region.

The legislature is currently working on Governor Patrick's $25 million bill targeted to bring broadband infrastructure to the unserved communities of the Commonwealth.  At the same time, the Connects are working on both short and long-term projects to facilitate the deployment of broadband in Western Massachusetts.  One of these projects is the Regional Broadband Survey, developed by the Connects in partnership with the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative and other state agencies. 

The Connects are hoping that individuals will complete the short survey, particularly those people and businesses unserved by broadband.  The Connects will use this data, to more accurately define the unserved areas and determine the current broadband market, in order to prepare for the addition of broadband services in these areas.  The survey can be accessed at the link below.  Please let your neighbors, friends, and local business owners know about this survey.  *take it online, or print it out*
